Hi! We’re 50+ recreational cyclists who just love to go out and ride our bikes.
Cookies, you ask? Why, they are simply our favorite “fuel” food to eat during and after our rides.
I (Jen) and my husband (Jim), returned to cycling in Spring of 2007. We bought hybrids thinking we would take just casual rides around the neighborhood for extra exercise on the weekends to supplement our walking routine. Little did we know, we would soon be bitten by the incurable “bike fever”. Gradually, we added more mileage to our rides and now, a typical easy ride is 20-25 miles but we can just as easily ride 40+ miles as time (and weather) permits. With two 50-mile rides under our belt, we’re halfway to a century (maybe next year???). We bought lighter road bikes this year so we can keep up with faster and longer group rides, and we recently joined a fun seniors group, the Claremont Senior Bicycle Group.
We’ve had a blast riding together and charting our progress. This blog is to record and share the reports and photos of our rides with family and friends and anyone else who might be interested.
No matter what your age, you’re never too old to ride a bike!
